In recent years, hepatitis C could be cured though it had caused great harm to the health and life of patients in the past. Chinese market is becoming a new continent of opportunity for pharmaceutical giants to seek performance growth, and the competition is intensifying. This study attempts to explore the development trends of global technology on HCV from the perspective of patent and market, aiming to provide reference for future development in China. Based on the patent data from 1998 to 2018 at home and abroad collected by Derwent Innovation (DI) platform, the paper comprehensively uses bibliometric and visualization methods to implement quantitative statistical analysis of the application year, country, important institutions and their R&D layout, and qualitatively analyzes the famous therapeutic drugs and evolution of institutional collaborative innovation combined with industry and market information. The results show that in the past two decades, patentees of the hepatitis C field have attached great importance to international applications and collaborative innovation; the United States is in the forefront of research and development in this area and many multinational pharmaceutical companies have a number of oral medicines that can achieve a curative effect; Chinese local pharmaceutical companies have faced serious threats. It is suggested that local pharmaceutical companies and research institutions should consider refining and deepening their research theme, try to adjust the research direction according to market demand, expand the research field to similar diseases, and strengthen the construction of competitive intelligence to adjust R&D and market strategies in a timely manner to better cope with the reality of the gradual shrinkage of China's hepatitis C market in the future.

As an important branch of artificial intelligence, the face recognition technology, relying on massive biological data information, has been widely used in smart transportation, internet finance, public security and other fields. The patent analysis in the field of face recognition technology can provide important guidelines for the research and development (R&D) of related industries in China. The technology life cycle theory and the Logistic model are applied to predict the development stage of face recognition technology. It is found that the current face recognition technology is in the growing stage of technology development. Using the incoPat, this paper mainly analyzes the perspectives of geographical distribution, participants, and technical fields. It is found that the global face recognition patents are currently in a continuous growing stage; China, the United States and South Korea have a large number of patents in the world; the current R&D hotspot is face data representation. In the future, China should be guided by the strategic face recognition industry development plan, strive to promote the R&D in key technology fields of face recognition, improve the R&D participant system of face recognition industry, and innovate the application scenarios of face recognition technology.

Care Robotics are an essential part of aged-care technology and important supplement of nursing staff. They integrate multi-disciplinary technological innovations such as artificial intelligence and robotics. It is not only a key industry for the aging society, but may even form emerging industries. This paper chooses the technical landscape framework constructed by Aharonson et al., and adapts the indicators describing the technical landscape to the needs of the comparative research on the paths of developing Chinese and Japanese Care Robotics. Through the overall development trends and the overall structural characteristics, the paper describes the Care Robotics technology landscapes in China and Japan, then analyzes differences of paths of research and development between them, and provides decision-making basis for the sustainable development of Chinese Care Robotics. The analysis shows that there are significant differences in the paths of researching and developing Chinese and Japanese Care Robotics. The research and development of Japanese Care Robotic technology, which is mainly enterprise-oriented, considering related fields of mechanical hands as the core fields. Different Japanese organizations choose different subjects under different paths of researching and developing; Chinese organizations conducting research and development of Chinese Care Robotic technology are mainly universities, considering mechanical hands and robots with special grounding mobile devices as common technical fields. Different Chinese organizations show obvious similarity in terms of research fields. Control systems of Robots are possible fields for future research and deveopment in China. The suggestions for Chinese Care Robotics include: focusing on developing mechanical hands and grounding mobile devices; improving cooperation with industrial enterprises and focusing on researching and developing local and patented sensors of Chinese Care Robotics; improving cooperation of research between universities and enterprises or industrial parks of robotics in China.

Technology provides effective support for national competitiveness, and talent is a necessary prerequisite for the development of S&T. As the source of Korean S&T talent policies, the upgrading Daedeok Technovalley injected strong impetus into Korean S&T in the middle and late 20th century. This article sorts out the Daedeok Technovalley's S&T talent policies of nearly half a century and divides its development history into three stages: talent infrastructure construction stage, industry-university-research cooperation system formation stage, and innovation cluster development stage. On this basis, this paper establishes an analysis framework of Daedeok Technovalley's innovation activities with S&T talents as core and three innovation subjects as carrier, and extracts five features, namely emphasizing industry-university-research cooperation, highlighting the status of enterprises, creating a favourable environment, government's strong support, and insufficient attention to basic research. Finally, the paper summarizes the experience of the Daedeok Technovalley's S&T talent policies evolution from three aspects: talent innovation environment, talent innovation capability, and talent innovation mechanism, aiming at providing references to the improvement of S&T talent policies.

As an important force leading the development of the global blockchain, U.S.'s practices is worth discussing and using for reference in promoting the development of the blockchain. This article analyzes relevant U.S. initiatives from the perspectives of R&D, supervision, standards, etc.. It is found that the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy has not made blockchain development a priority, but the government’s support for blockchain has been extended to many fields; the development of the U.S. Congress has changed from laissez-faire to the establishment of a clear regulatory system, and the states have become more active in the supervision of blockchain; mastering the international initiative and solving the industry standard problems is the main approach to the construction of blockchain standard system. It is claimed that the current prospect of the integration of blockchain and non-financial fields has emerged. Chinese government should increase its support for key blockchain technology and application research, improve the definition and classification of digital assets, establish a blockchain testing and certification standardization national laboratory, avoid improper constraints on technology and industrial development, and set up an extensive blockchain evaluation system.
