World Sci-Tech R&D is a comprehensive bimonthly scientific and technical journal supervised by the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) and hosted by the National Science Library(Chengdu), CAS. It is publicly distributed both domestically and internationally. Founded in October 1979, it was approved for public distribution within China and abroad by the National Science and Technology Commission in 1993. It was previously known as Science Digest and World Research and Development. In 1995, it was renamed based on the suggestion of academician QIAN Xuesen.
As a strategic cutting-edge think tank media for technological development, World Sci-Tech R&D aims to comprehensively report the latest scientific research progress in international science and technology development strategies, planning, plans, trends, frontiers, policies, management, and evaluation. It primarily publishes research articles, review articles, and strategic decision-making advisory articles related to technology development reviews and prospects, technology development strategies and planning, technology development trends, cutting-edge scientific and technological advancements, technology policies and management, technology evaluation and assessment, and technology decision-making and consulting. Its goal is to serve national innovation-driven development and the construction of a world-leading technological powerhouse.
According to the latest statistics(2023) from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), World Sci-Tech R&D has an impact factor of 1.767. It is currently included in databases such as the Chinese Science Citation Database(CSCD), the China Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations(CSTPC), the China Journal Full-text Database (CJFD), Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database (CAJCED), World Journal Citation Impact Report (2022)(WJCI), and the Think Tank Journal Group(Version 1.0).
