In order to consolidate its position as a global scientific superpower, the UK has introduced relevant laws and policies since 2022 to support the establishment of the UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) and its governance as a statutory body. This paper first analyses the latest progress of ARIA by analyzing its relevant laws and policy initiatives; then analyses the differences between ARIA and the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the UK Research and Innovation Agency; and finally, puts forward suggestions such as exploring the establishment of a statutory body to support the development of disruptive technologies and strengthening the governance capacity of nonconventional science, technology, and innovation activities of innovation subjects.
